You know… we have never thought of it like that, but it actually might be true. We have always just assumed that when cats yell at us to open doors without then wanting to use those doors, it was simply about them not liking… closed doors. Just being opposed to the concept. Not liking being unable to go where they want when they want to. And maybe it's part of that, but maybe it goes beyond that as well. Maybe it is about removing us from the room rather than them walking into it. Mind is blown.

We love, love, love it when people do things like this. And these are the exact things that cats appreciate as well. They generally don't care at all about the expensive toys or beds that we buy them. They like the old things, the reused things, the things that smell interesting and feel worn out and loved. This is the purrfect thing to make for a cat. Use a thing that was already there, make it comfy and cozy, and that is all that your cat could ever want in its life. Yes, use old TV sets for this. It'll make your cats happy and will be so, so much better than throwing them into the trash.
