Since the beginning, the woman chose to pay for everything that the cat needed. They funded the cat's toys, meals, and restroom supplies. The roommate, on the other hand? Maybe one thing, here and there. It seems obvious on the outset that this was the woman's cat, but the roommate was welcome to help if they wanted to. After all, they were both living with the animal.
Things change quickly. Without the two sharing a home any longer, the woman soon realized that she'd have to put up a fight for the animal she raised. This roommate wasn't going to go down without a fight.

The very fact that this roommate continues to bring her boyfriend over to her old apartment is troubling. Sure, the woman can put her foot down and tell her to stop visiting, but what good would that do? She's still relying on the roommate for funds while she's in her own apartment search, so the only way forward is to tolerate it until she can live in a space with a different lock. The cat, so long as they're in the apartment with their owner, is safe. Is the woman's sanity safe? Questionable. What would you do in this situation?
