The love of a cat is truly something that cannot be described to someone who hasn't personally felt it before. You can try. You can tell them how much it means to you when your cat comes walking to you, of their own accord, and cuddles up in your lap. You can tell them about the trust they show in that one simple action, the love you feel emanating from that one little decision. You can tell them how you are overwhelmed by that love every single time that it happens. And still, chances are that they won't understand. But we do. And that is all that matters.

And yes, you might face consequences for choosing to put your face on a cat's belly, but it is still worth it. The few times that you get to do it, that your cat lets you feel their fluffiness and inhale deeply… those are the best moments. We, as cat owners, actually live for these moments. And if you, as a non-cat owner, don't understand that feeling, that is on you. We will keep doing it, and we will keep taking on the risk that it comes with. Beacuse it is that worth it.
