Never before have there been so many people using the internet, many of whom are totally dependent on it.

Just think about the wide variety of individuals who have become convinced that a large part of their purpose is giving an anonymous internet audience entertainment that comes in the form of social media content. This involves pretty much everything that we end up consuming via our phones, but there is no denying that in this day and age, it is short-form video that is king. Much of this video can be found on the platform we know as TikTok, which has made sure that much of this decade has been defined by increasing numbers of people sharing their lives, hobbies, and #ads on their addictive and ubiquitous platform.

The clock app is a place that many associate with Gen Z, but it is home to users of all ages and backgrounds. So long as the algorithm can pin down your interests or the things that make you outraged, you are set for the next few hours of mindless scrolling. When it is given a chance, it is eerily successful at getting the majority of people hooked.
Sometimes, though, it is better to consume the antics of TikTokers in a more casual, interested observer kind of way, not as a never-ending and miserable doomscroll.
