Yesterday I had my therapy appointment, and I was nervous, because, in all honesty, I didn't really have much to say. My week had been exhausting, and my mind was too tired to go through the files and files of traumas that needed reviewing. My head was empty, my mind simply blank. When I first started therapy, this would have made me reschedule, because I'm a people pleaser, and if I don't have anything to talk about, why would I waste my therapist's time? However, I have been doing therapy for over a decade now and have learned that the days I have nothing to talk about are the days you actually get your money's worth. Those are the days your therapist gets to actually do their job and use their skills. For example, yesterday I was ready to just casually yap about my work week since I didn't have much on my mind. However, it ended up being a very intense session about my mommy and daddy issues… Did I see that coming? Definitely not. Was I surprised that it went there when it was done? Also definitely not.
But now my brain is even more tired, so we must bring it dopamine with memes!
