One sad kitten remained after her entire litter got dumped in front of a pet store, until a chance visitor decided she wasn't leaving without her: 'The man said $50 and I replied, put her in a box'

No one likes to be picked last, not even kittens. This kitten, now named 'Pooter', was the last kitten who remained from her litter that was abandoned in front of a pet store. A compassionate hooman saw them on a chance visit to their mom in the Midwest, and after seeing the sorry state Pooter was in, she couldn't resist bringing her home to make her part of the family.

When your first expurrience in life is being abandoned, it's hard to imagine that your life will be anything other than terrible. On top of that, you watch your brothers and sisters find their homes, while you remain alone in the pet store, with nothing but food, water, and a tiny scrap of gray cloth to keep you company. But you have to hold out because one day soon, a hooman will come and see your sadness, and decide that from that day on, you'll never be sad again.

We're happy to say that Pooter is now living her best life with her new pawrent. She enjoys a hearty piece of chimken and sitting on any available empty lap. Her furvorite activities are dinner prep and lounging in front of the fake fireplace. She gets entertainment from her pawrent's fish tank and is showered with love daily. 

Pooter may have been the last one picked, but you know what they say, "Good things come to those who wait". And Pooter and her pawrent certainly seem good for each other.

  • Kittens are social animals, they're usually born into a litter of brothers and sisters and are quite literally always surrounded by them. So for a kitten to be all alone… it just breaks our hearts. Thankfully, she didn't stay alone for long!

    She had no toys, no bed, only a litter box and food/water + a tiny scrap of Grey cloth that she huddled against. Apparently someone decided to dump some kittens in front of the store in the middle of a fine frigid Midwest winter and she was the only one left.

    Now I know what you might be thinking, "they did their best" or "atleast they took them in". My guys, they SELL cat stuff in their store. I mean EVERYTHING from basics, they had beds, toys, litters+boxes,food/treats, accessories and still chose to give her, NOTHING.

    I asked to play with her and then next thing I asked was how much for her. The man said $50 and I replied, put her in a box. He said she hasn't had any if her basic shots yet, I dont care, | made an appointment right there and then for when we returned to our homestate.

    The store owner satisfied, we grabbed some basics for her so she was comfortable for the next few days + the trip home. This is Pooter, she loves chicken and sitting on laps. Her favorite pass time is dinner prep and sitting by a fake fire place. If there's a cold empty lap, then there's room for a Pooter.

  • She really does love resting in front of the fake fireplace! You know how cats are with warm things (they're obsessed with them), so even the idea of purrceived warmth is enough for her to take over the entire thing. And you know what else? She looks so happy here. Nothing makes us happier than seeing a cat happy and safe with their chosen hooman. It warms our hearts… probably even more than that fake fireplace does!
