Cats don't believe in space limitations. They believe in vibes.

You can spend good money on a plush bed, perfectly sized, ideally placed, and they will still choose the smallest, most inconvenient spot imaginable. A shoebox. A mixing bowl. The corner of a laptop. Half a book. If there is technically enough room for at least one paw, the rest is just a matter of commitment.

There's always that moment where it clearly shouldn't work. The space is too small, too shallow, or already half occupied. But they'll step in anyway, turn around a few times, tuck themselves in, and somehow make it happen. What looked impossible a second ago suddenly looks like the most natural place in the world.

They don't do it halfway either. Once they decide a spot works, they fully settle in like they were meant to be there. Half hanging out, slightly squished, completely unbothered. Meanwhile, you're just watching, trying to figure out how that was physically possible.

And the second they sit, it's theirs. Doesn't matter if you needed that box or were about to use that bag. The decision has been made. They fit, so they sit, and everything else adjusts around that.

Doesn’t matter how small the box is, a box is a box and a cat will find a way to fit. You can look at it and think there’s no chance, but they’ll prove you wrong every time. A little step in, a turn, a shuffle, and suddenly they’re fully settled like it was made for them. It might not look comfortable to anyone else, but to a cat, if it’s a box, it works.

Cats will find anywhere to sleep, even if it’s your lunch. You can look away for one second and suddenly there’s a cat curled up in your salad like it’s the coziest spot in the house. Doesn’t matter that it’s not a bed, or that you were about to eat it. They’ll get comfortable, tuck in, and fall asleep like this was always the plan. At that point, it’s not your lunch anymore, it’s just a very weird cat bed.

Physics doesn’t really apply to cats. They squeeze into spaces that shouldn’t fit, balance on things that shouldn’t hold them, and somehow it all works. You watch it happen and just accept it. At this point, it feels like cats have their own rules and everything else just adjusts.
