While this story of feline abandonment starts of rather sadly, it changes its tune rather rapidly. Serving as a reminder that when the universe closes a door, it often opens a window, or in this case a garage door.

It is never easy or nice to hear about a cat who is abandoned by their family. Especially when it is because they decided to move home. The excuse is so poor, so underwhelming that you cannot find the energy within you to muster the effort to spare the family some sympathy. They might as well have left their child behind. But thankfully this story is not solely about the abandonment of a cat child, but about the hooman who helped this left behind feline to find a loving and caring home that would not turn their back upon him.

Now, that is how you can spot a true cat lover. They will pull out all the stops for a stray cat whom they do not know, but even a cat that they know belongs to someone else. They are willing to literally put their money where their mouth is and pay up to ensure the comfort, not even really the wellbeing, of this cat. And all we can say is that this feline is darn lucky that their neighbor happened to be such a connoisseur of cattos, or else they would have spent far more time out in the cold.

Well, that sure is an interesting way for a cat to find its new home, but it certainly seems like it all worked out for the best. And from the way that our abandoned catto Waffles reacted to being brought into a stranger’s garage, he was likely more than ready for a hooman to come along and scoop him up. For while some cats could care less for our comfort, kindness and care, there are those who live for it. They might be far and few in between but much like Waffles, they yearn for the love and company of a hooman pawrent.
