'My first kitty from the distribution system': A work commute turned into a kitten rescue as driver pulls over for what looked like a paper bag and leaves with an eighth cat

This was supposed to be a normal drive to work, but the CDS had other plans. 

Sometimes the cat distribution system really doesn't care how many cats you already have. This purrson already had seven and still somehow ended up with one more after spotting what looked like a paper bag moving in the middle of the road. A closer look turned that into a tiny kitten trying to figure things out on a busy street.

They pulled over, ran back, and grabbed her before anything could happen. The kitten was too small to even get up onto the curb, just stuck in the middle of it all. So she got scooped up and taken along for the day, which is already a big upgrade from where she started.

Since then, there's been an effort to find where she came from, but it doesn't seem like anyone's missing her. No home, no one looking, just a kitten who ended up in the right place at the right time.

And somehow, even with a full house of cats, this one still feels special. The dream cat showing up out of nowhere, right when she needed help most, is exactly how these stories tend to go. You don't plan it, you don't expect it, and then suddenly there's another cat in your life who fits right in.

    bag. Drove around it and as I was going around I noticed it was a little kitty. I pulled over as quick as I could with my hazards on and ran back up the road (was 80km road so was stopped quite a ways up)

    Cars were coming, but luckily I made it. The kitty decided to try jumping up the gutter but she was too small so I grabbed her. Took her with me to work for the day.

  • You can never have too many cats, there’s always room for one more somehow. Every time it feels like that’s it, the limit has been reached, another one shows up and just fits right in. It stops feeling like a number and more like a collection that keeps growing. One more doesn’t really change anything, it just makes things a little better.

  • The cat distribution system always knows the purrfect home to deliver to. It just shows up and makes the decision for you. One minute there’s a cat, the next they’re yours. No overthinking, no planning, it just works out. They always seem to end up exactly where they’re supposed to be, with someone who’s willing to take them in without hesitation.

  • Such an amazing rescue. Spotting something so small in the road and actually stopping to check made all the difference. That could’ve gone so differently, but instead she ended up safe and cared for. It takes a lot to pull over and go back like that, especially on a busy road. Really glad she was found by the right person.
