1 day old kitten found abandoned by cat mom in Texan parking lot saved by friends against advice of animal control and adopted into furever home, rescuer says: ‘She's doing really well and has already gained about an ounce’

Sometimes to save a soul you have to go against the advice you are given. That is the moral of the kitten saving story we have gathered for you today.

After all, saving cats is tough, saving kittens is even tougher, and when they have just been brought into the world we live in, it can be even tougher. Which is why most of us would reach out to those who are supposed to know better for advice on how to handle such a situation. The only problem being that the voice on the other end of the phone, while authoritative and knowledgeable, does not have eyes on the situation. So following their guidance blindly is not the way to go, and thankfully these cat rescuers did use their own judgment of the situation before them to save the life of a cute kitten who would not have lasted much longer on his own.

So while it is important to listen to those who know more than you, it is also important to remember that your judgement of a situation is what makes or breaks a situation. And in this case the kitten was saved and given a loving home for all eternity.

  • Now that is some good cat care right there. Sure, we might have thought to bring the box with us, but then we would not be as smart as this rescuer considering he likely knew that there was still a chance that momma cat would come back for her kitten, and together they would have the best chance of survival. But, alas it seems as though that is not to be the case in this story. And while that is rather heartbreaking, we are happy to see that this hooman knew what to do in this kitten’s time of need and stepped up to the plate.

  • Wow, it is not easy to stand up to the advice of a governmental agency, but when you know better you know better. All you need to do is trust in yourself, have enough faith to know that your decision-making is more in tune with the situation in front of you and that the person spouting commands at you with authority might not know how to handle the situation as well as you do. Not to mention that their fears are totally justified. The city’s system for dealing with animals tends to treat them as an inconvenience, and it is much easier to get rid of an inconvenience than it is to deal with it.
