  • This interview was such a farce that I stopped them mid-sentence and asked to leave.

About a month ago, I had an interview at a school. I got there 20 minutes early, you know, to be professional and get through the check-in. process. I sat down and waited for the principal.
  • At my scheduled interview time, the principal came out and told me he'd be with me in a moment, then went to meet other people who were also waiting,
  • who looked like representatives from the educational directorate or something. I told myself it wasn't a big deal. Anyway, a full 45 minutes passed before
  • he came to get me. As he approached, he mumbled a quick 'sorry,' but my facial expression must have said it all because he looked flustered when he saw me.
  • We went into a meeting room, and suddenly he tells me we have to wait for the assistant principal as well. Okay, at this point, I was completely fed up. The
  • assistant principal finally arrived, and without any proper introductions, they said we'd get right into it and started bombarding me with questions. That was the
  • last straw for me. I raised my hand and said, "One moment, please. You left me waiting for 45 minutes past our appointment, barely apologized, didn't
  • even introduce yourselves, and are now rushing through the interview as if I'm an unwelcome guest. This shows me everything I need to know about the
  • disorganization here and your lack of respect for people's time. Is this how the entire school is managed?" They looked at each other and started to stammer, but I cut them off.
  • I told them, "You know what? I'm no longer interested in this position. Could you please show me the way out?" They apologized,

  • and the principal himself walked me out. At the door, I extended my hand to shake his and said, "You really need to work on your time management. This whole experience was a huge red flag."
  • Key_Reser... "You've let your school down and you've let yourself down"
  • Tryn2Contrib... Good for you! That was poor of them. IF that was an impromptu meeting, he should have recognized you,
  • apologized for the inconvenience - the meeting was to address something urgent and last minute (it better have been!). Then - when they finally got to you, apologized
  • profusely, introduced themselves, the school, then ask questions like they care. You probably dodged a bullet closing to walk away.
  • Reasonable-E... Well done, you did the correct thing, if that the way they are treating you, god knows what they like to work for. A farce all right, come accross that before myself over the years, some interviewers are clueless, clown shows tbh..
  • quintupularity. at properly funded and staffed institution wouldn't have these problems. I'm assuming this is a very common situation.
  • Glad Universi... Intelligence test to see if you could find your own way out.
