That’s my parking spot move to another spot

A while ago my boss hired three new managers and it all started out good until last Monday when one of the new managers arrived and asked around who's car was 'insert license plate' and when my coworker spoke up saying it was theirs the manager said, "You're in my spot don't park there again please." Apparently the new manager has been taking a claim to that spot ever since they began working at the company. For the remainder of last week whenever that parking spot was open anyone would take it

Yesterday in a group email manager sent a warning to not take that spot or risk having the car be towed. Luckily my boss doesn't like people claiming spots so she responded, "First come first serve for all spots in the employee parking lot there is no claiming a spot." So far this morning no replies from the manager so I'm hoping that they were given a one on

one talk by the boss that their entitled behavior thinking they're like Sheldon Cooper over a parking spot will not be tolerated. Last manager who acted this way was out of a job after they had to pay to get a coworkers car out of an impound lot for calling a tow truck on said coworker for taking a spot the manager became entitled to call their spot.

Tourist Tricky Upon taking a new ceo position, my predecessor didn't leave (long story) but stepped down to a lower position instead. On the first day he asked me, "so I guess you'll want my parking spot?" I'm sure I looked at him like he was nuts, then said, "No, but there won't be any designated parking spots going forward. If you want that spot, get here earliest". It was the first - and maybe smallest unwinding of - inappropriate policies I had to do. For some reason, parking spots take on m

Endoftheworldis2far So they e hired two managers recently that have tried this? Sounds like they need a different person doing the hiring process.

kennyg977 You've had two managers that did this same thing? Where are you?

Islandcat72 I work in a grocery store, but my start time is two hours before the store opens. I've taken to parking in a certain spot because it's not near the front where it would take up customer spaces and is under a tree so it's shady on hot days. One morning I pulled into the lot, and there was a car in "my" spot. I actually felt a wave of rage come over me before I recovered my senses. It made for a funny story in the break room.

sjw_7 Not quite the same but at a previous company a long time ago the Marketing Director was a flash git. He brought himself a Ferrari and started driving it to work. He didn't want it getting dinged by someone's car door so started parking it across two bays instead of one. This was a pain as parking was limited and the car park was always full. The CEO got wind of it and told him to stop. He didn't so he was threatened with having it towed if it happened again and that it was probably best if

Realistic_Store9122 Single with two vehicles. Hmmm, wonder where I could park my second one for awhile!

Nathan-Stubblefield It's long been the practice to label reserved parking. Otherwise you might lose a client who innocently parks there and gets towed. A "Secret Reserved Parking Place" is pathetic and unprofessional.

Nizuni We had a gal like that at my job several years ago. She wasn't even a manager. But she legit went after someone once about it and everyone heard. We told her there aren't assigned spots and we're too small an office for that anyway. She still pitched a small fit whenever someone was in her spot. Luckily she was only here a year or so maybe.
