What are the first tasks of the day for an average cat pawrent?

Any feline owner knows that as soon as you invite a fuzzy feline into your home, your priorities immediately shift. All of a sudden, even your basic needs don't matter as much as your feisty feline's wants and demands. One day, you could be taking care of yourself, your body, your dreams and aspirations, and the next day, all of those are forgotten in favor of ensuring your cute cat gets to have their favorite snack as soon as you wake up in the morning.

We vaguely remember our lives before we adopted our first furry friend. We would wake up in the morning to the sound of birds happily tweeting, spend a few extra minutes in bed, scrolling through our phones, and slowly preparing ourselves for the day to come. Once we decided to get out of bed, we would usually take care of our basic needs, like brushing our teeth and securing a hot cup of coffee.

Our mornings since we got our cats look vastly different. We rarely wake up from the sound of our alarm clock, but rather from our cats either screaming at us to wake up, or physically sitting on our faces as a subtle sign it's time for breakfast. Once our eyes are finally open, usually hours before we initially intended to wake up, we don't get to have a few moments to properly wake up, because our demanding little furballs are already sitting by their food bowl, demanding what is rightfully theirs. And if you thought that was when the morning shenanigans ended, you would be wrong. Even after they are fed, these funny felines are not done with us, because with their belly full of food, they are ready to run around and play for at least half an hour, and we must be there to supervise that they don't break anything or take it too far.

If you think that we are complaining about the change, let us assure you, we would not have it any other way. We love the chaos our cats bring into our home, and we can't wait to experience it every single day. Just like we can't wait to scroll through the hilarious cat memes below.
