'CDS made my irrational fear come true': A housekeeper found abandoned newborn kittens, and a rescuer took them in, cared for them around the clock, and gave them a forever home

What started as a joke turned into a real situation fast. 

The rescuer always joked that their worst fear was finding a box of kittens, because they knew they wouldn't be able to walk away. That exact situation showed up when the housekeeper found abandoned kittens and asked for help. The rescuer said yes right away, and suddenly the joke turned into real life.

These kittens are tiny, only about a week old, with eyes still closed. The person is bottle feeding every two hours, keeping them warm with heating pads, and staying on top of everything they need. It's a lot of work, especially at that age, but the setup is solid and they're being looked after closely.

All those years of watching kitten care videos ended up helping. They already knew what to do, so instead of scrambling, everything got handled quickly. The kittens ended up in a place where someone was ready.

At home, the rescuer's two senior cats are very aware something is going on. The older cats are curious and a little grumpy about the situation, especially with these tiny new arrivals nearby. For now, everyone is kept separate, but the reactions are already there.

It's a lot to take on, but it worked out. The kittens needed help, and the rescuer was ready to step in.

    Taking them to the vet on Monday to get checked out. Keeping them separated from our other 2 senior cats, although they're various curious and grumpy about their potential grandchildren.

  • The senior cats might be a little grumpy right now, but that’s expected. It’s a big change and they definitely notice something new is going on. Give it a bit of time and they’ll come around. Once things settle, they’ll probably start getting used to the kittens and maybe even keep an eye on their little grandcats. It might take a while, but it usually works out in the end.

  • The CDS always knows who to pick. It just shows up and somehow gets it right every time. These kittens ended up with someone who knew what to do and didn’t hesitate to step in. Not everyone would be ready for something like this, but it landed in the right place. It might feel random, but it really worked out exactly how it needed to.

  • Looks like there are some new family members now. One minute everything was normal, the next it’s tiny kittens and bottle feeding every two hours. They’re so small but somehow take up all the attention right away. Even the older cats know something’s going on. It’s a lot, but also really cute how quickly they just become part of the mix.
