This person was stunned by this "Good morning" text from their renovator that quickly went off the rails
Starting off wild, right? Isn't it super unprofessional to beg for money from a client for… your own payroll? Sheesh, there must be a better way to ask for it without literally telling the clients that you need to do payroll!
-
They're being so wishy-washy about the money
What does "hold the 400 for that" even mean? They want the full price, except $400?
Not to mention that, you know, the work isn't done, and it's not done correctly, either.
-
Bad... paint?
Apparently this is an issue with some contractors. They'll show up to a job, and the client will insist that they already have paint. Then, they show them some downright elderly paint that's been sitting in their garage for decades, collecting dust.
But. If this person bought new paint for the job (and most renovators will insist on that anyway) than I don't understand what this dude is talking about.
-
Wow, very profesh
Is this how they talk to all customers? Or just women? It's super impolite, either way!
-
They are desperate for that money, and at this point, they realize they've gone too far
They're realizing in real time that this client is about to walk, and they've put far too much information in writing.
-
Good for this person for remaining professional in the face of ridiculous text messsages
-
Tell him!
-
"Lol ok" ???
This is wild! What are they thinking, having this conversation over text?
-
This guy is whining like he's a scorned ex boyfriend or something

-
That's exactly right

They shouldn't let this dude anywhere near their property again
Even though they had a different contractor doing all the work, this just seems like a liability at this point. Now they've got someone who's unhappy with this client, seems to not know what they're doing (see: the paint fiasco), and has no inclination to treat their property with respect any more. It'd be a hard no from me, dawg.
-
Just so much going on here
I'm also curious if this was just one person or multiple. Switching between "u" and "you" in the messages is one tell, but it could just be that they were typing fast some of the time. Or maybe it is 2 people, handing the phone back and forth, trying to undo the damage they just did.
-
This is my favorite part
The thumbs up is very funny, mostly because it's font size like 1000. I'm sorry to this client, who must be really upset about all this, but I do hope they at least get a laugh out of the massive thumbs up. It's also quite classy of them the just reply with a heart!
Let's hope the rest of their work goes way smoother than this disaster.

Good for this person for refusing to tolerate this type of behavior!
This certainly doesn't look good for the renovator. Why is he airing out all of his financial issues to this person? Telling your customer that you need money for payroll is not appropriate, and it doesn't reflect well on him, so I'm not sure why he bothered to do that.
This person has everything they need in writing. They probably haven't seen the last of this guy, and with the way this company is being ran, they might have to take the issue to court. I think they'll win any case easily, though.
