Cats have a mind of their own, especially the ones you don't even know are yours yet.

Felines are known for being master meownipulators and convincing other families that they're poor, sad stray cats that need their love, even when they have a purrfectly good family back home. At one point, we discovered that one of our cats (who would always find a way to sneak out no matter how much we tried to keep her in) had three other families who took care of her. What a greedy kitty!

It's not just hissterical house cats who purrticipate in the "not my cat" phenomenon. Street cats will often decide that they're living in your house, sneak in, charm you until you decide to adopt them, and then all of a sudden, you have a pet cat. These "not my cats" are the sneakiest, but also the cutest. They come in, purr, love on you, sleep on the edge of your bed, and slowly, you fall in love with them.   • How many times have you not known where your cat went to? You might be sitting on the couch and realize that you haven't seen your cat for a couple of hours. Are they purrfectly comfy in a new hiding spot? Did they sneak into the fridge and are currently eating all the leftover chicken? Or, did they make a surprise visit to their second family? You can never truly own a cat, they just let you think that you do.

If I approach him with a plan to move him, he looks at me as if to say, "Yes?" He also sneaks through the back window, but he is very cute.

  • What can we say, cats will be cats. They love to sleep in the weirdest places. We have countless articles about it, feel free to check. From sleeping on top of textured radiators to falling asleep inside the backyard grill, cats will sleep anywhere except their own beds. Why? Who knows. That's one of life's greatest meowsteries.

One day he has a collar on. I spoke to the neighbours and they hadn't put it on him either...so god knows how many others people he was visiting

We put up posters in the neighbourhood and got a phone call on day 3; A woman in tne next street came home to find him asleep on her bed! She rang my number and brought him home, looking sorry for himself.

    Caroline @MrsB_03 Replying to @generoom Yes we have a regular visitor who is a neighbour's cat. Spends a lot of time sleeping in the greenhouse. Getting a big boisterous labrador has decreased the visits slightly but nowhere near as much as you'd expect! She even follows us on walks!

  • Orange cats are the most dangerous “not my cats”, and by dangerous, we mean the most charming. There's something in our DNA as a feline fanatic that we just can't resist them. They're so fluffy and loving that we give in to their every demand. Even if they're not our cat. And slightly mean.

Neighbours have pretty much given up on trying to get bandit to stay home, their poor little guy though misses his cat, but Bandit has decided a house w/cats, better than dogs
