Every little win with a former TNR cat feels huge.

Adopting a shy TNR cat can take a lot of patience, which is what makes this progress feel so big. This started with a cat that was cautious and likely kept her distance, and now she's accepting pets, playing, and choosing to stay close. Those aren't small changes. That's trust being built step by step.

The biggest moment has to be her sleeping next to a leg on the couch for hours. For a cat that started out wary, that says a lot. She didn't just tolerate being nearby, she chose it. That kind of closeness feels huge when it comes from a cat that had to learn people were safe.

What makes the story especially sweet is that the person adopting her is noticing every little win and being careful not to rush the next one. That patience is probably part of why she keeps opening up. It sounds like trust has been growing through little moments, and now those moments are turning into something bigger.

It also feels like she keeps showing a little more of herself as she gets comfortable. First pets, then play, now sofa naps pressed up next to her person. For a former TNR cat, that is real progress. She may still be shy, but she sounds like she's settling in and starting to feel at home.

  • Trust takes time, especially with a cat like this, and that’s what makes the progress so sweet. It’s all those little moments adding up. A pet here, play there, then suddenly a sofa nap next to you. None of it happens overnight. The slow build is part of what makes it so meaningful. She’s getting there at her own pace, and that’s exactly how it should be.

    ken9996adams BIG BIG MILESTONE! Congrats!! Honestly, it sounds like you are doing fantastic. Keep it up! Just give the little one some space if she "asks" for it, like if she runs off or hides under the bed, just let her do her thing. Keep working on pets and playtime, lots of treats too!
