“AITAH for telling my roommate to shower or I well sell your cat”
I female(42) live in an apartment with two roomates who we will call cat and dog(real humans) Dog is my older cousin and real cool hardworking guy, cat is dogs buddy. I have chf and lung issues Dog keeps place very clean cat not so much. I work as a chef and is going most days Same with Dog he is in construction and works out of town cat doesnt work. when i first moved in i notied that dog does most of the work in the houses, cat has a pet a cat in which he doesnt clean up after. Because both me and Dog are at work most days cat is expected to clean (wash dishes and take out the grabage) he doesnt do the dishes for days allows the pet to eat out of the dishes and cups pet walking in the litterbox and then in the plates we eat off of. the first week i said nothing dishs pulled up in the sinked litterbox smelled disgusting house trashed i clean it all up both me and dog cat sat his b**t on the couch watching. the second week same nasty c**p, this went on for two months. I had to see my specialist for my chf doc is wondering why i have an infection i explain about cat not cleaning the litterbox. when i finished at the doc i went home and told cat what the doc said he simple said ok..... a week later i get home and before i get in the house i can smell the litterbox im pi**ed at this point i walk in and telling him to clean it, gives me every excuse in the book i go to my room close the door and lite candles.

You can't force someone to shower, but there are lots of things you can do about a messy litter box! Getting a second litter box (yes, even for one cat) will help greatly. It distributes the smell and give the cat more options of where to use the bathroom, meaning less accidents and less post-piddle cleaning. Again, we also highly recommend the Ease S1 Self-Cleaning litter box from OneIsAll. Our team tried it, and it got two paws up from our kitties. They weren't afraid of it and started using it very quickly!
All you have to do to clean it is remove the bottom, change the bag, and put it back. No more digging around like an archeologist in the sand, those are some treasures that we think are better left buried.

Yep, definitely TAH. All this “Cat and Dog” nonsense! And then telling you’re going to sell their pet?Youre a bad person. Grow up.

Even though this 42-year-old roommate is right to be angry, no one should threaten to sell another person's pet. It's just not right. If you don't like it, you don't have to live there! That's the beauty of being an adult. For better or for worse, you get to make your own choices, like not showering for 7 months or living with roommates after 40.

I think the [cat] deserves better. The roommate needs to get a job or get out. I have a male roommate that kept blowing up the toilet in the guest bathroom. (I don't use it) I told him 3 different times that it is disgusting and I shouldn't have to tell a 40 plus yr old man to clean a toilet. The last time I said if I have to have this conversation again, you are going to be asked to move out. That's it. Get with the program or get out.
