Open a drawer and somehow it's already occupied.

Drawers don't stay empty for long when there's a cat around. You open one for a second, turn away, and suddenly there's a cat inside. Doesn't matter if it's packed with clothes or barely open, they'll make it work. Shirts, socks, anything in there just gets pushed aside until there's enough space.

They seem to like how tucked in it feels. Dark, soft, a little hidden. They'll squeeze between things, turn a couple times, and settle right on top of everything like it was meant for them. You come back later to grab something and there's just a pair of eyes looking up at you instead.

They don't act caught either. You open the drawer and they just stay there like it's their spot now. No rush to leave, no reaction like they did anything wrong. If anything, they stretch out more or shift to get comfortable again. You move stuff around them and they barely care.

It ends up becoming part of the routine. You open a drawer and half expect to find one in there. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't, but it's always a possibility. It's such a random place to end up, but they treat it like one of the best spots in the house.

  • These two definitely look up to no good. Sitting in that drawer together, just watching everything like they’ve got a plan. The way they’re tucked in there makes it feel intentional, not random at all. Feels like they picked the spot and are waiting it out. Something’s getting knocked over later, no question.

  • This drawer was clearly made for a cat. It’s basically the size of a full cat bed, just built into the dresser. Enough room to curl up, stretch out a bit, and still feel tucked in. The sides make it feel closed off in a good way, and all the clothes just turn into extra padding. It actually works better for a cat than it ever did for storage. No surprise they picked it and decided to stay there.

  • This cat’s face says it all, how dare you disturb me. Just sitting there like you opened that drawer for no reason at all. Completely settled in, not moving, just staring like you’re the one doing something wrong. You can almost hear the annoyance. It found the spot, got comfortable, and now you’re interrupting it. No interest in leaving either, just waiting for you to close it and go away.
