One crinkle is all it takes for cats to come running.

Cats hear food before anything else. Doesn't matter where they are either. Deep asleep, hiding in another room, staring out a window somewhere, they still somehow pick up the exact sound of a treat bag opening. One tiny crinkle and suddenly there's a cat running through the house at full speed.

Some of them come flying around corners with absolutely no control. Paws sliding everywhere, almost crashing into walls trying to get to the kitchen first. Others try to act calm for a few seconds, then speed up the second they think another cat might beat them there.

Meanwhile you can call their name all day and get nothing back. Total silence. But open a can quietly at the far end of the house and now they're standing behind you like they teleported.

Then the routine starts. Sitting next to the cabinet. Staring directly at you. Meowing louder and louder like they've been starved for weeks instead of eating an hour ago. Some cats start yelling while they're still running toward the room.

Cats will absolutely make you prove they can’t have your snacks. You can tell them no all you want, they’re still coming over to inspect it themselves. Sitting too close, sniffing everything, trying to sneak a paw toward the bag like maybe the rules changed in the last five seconds. Some cats stare so intensely you start feeling guilty for eating in front of them at all.

Cats have incredibly selective super hearing. You can call their name five times and get completely ignored, but open a can from three rooms away and suddenly they appear out of nowhere. Doesn’t matter how quiet you try to be either. The second food is involved, their hearing works perfectly fine. Somehow they always know exactly when snacks are happening.

Cats always try to act casual when they hear a food bag open. They’ll slowly wander into the room pretending they were already heading that way, trying so hard to look natural about it.
