'I'm rich, I can pay the fines': Entitled Seattle tourist served $50,000 fine after throwing rocks at endangered and beloved Hawaiian monk seal named Lani

Of all the things you could do on a beautiful vacation in Maui, why would you choose to throw a rock at an endangered animal?

We're a little confused, didn't everyone grow up learning the golden rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"? It means to treat everyone else with respect because you also want to be treated with respect. Here at Animal Comedy, we firmly believe that this applies also to animals - just because they can't speak our language, doesn't mean that they don't have feelings too. So, why would you ever think that throwing a rock at an endangered Hawaiian monk seal is appropriate in any way? And not just any endangered animal, her name is Lani, and she's a beloved member of the community. Locals love her and actively work to protect her and her calves.

The entitled Seattle-based tourist was caught and filmed throwing rocks at her, and when asked to stop he said, "I'm rich, I can pay the fines". Well, be careful what you wish for, Igor, because he's now facing a $50,000 fine and a slew of negative reviews for his business based on his entitled actions.

Let us be clear about something - we're not in any way writing this article because of the actions of the tourist, Igor, we're writing this because it's a breath of fresh air to finally see justice being served. Just because you're rich doesn't mean you can get away with bad things. Especially in today's world, where everyone has a camera, and the internet is not known for doling out mercy to those who don't deserve it.

Here are a list of things you could do in Maui instead of throwing a rock at an endangered species: go for a hike, relax on the beach, take a surfing class, get a refreshing poke bowl, build a sand castle, have a spa day, learn traditional Hawaiian dances, get a tattoo… the list goes on and on. It's not like you're lacking things to do on a beautiful island that is built as one of the most exquisite tourist destinations out there.
