We know there is science backing the comfort of animals to humans. That's why there are emotional support animals and therapy dogs. They make us happy, and, in some cases, help keep us physically alive. But the emotional support ones help keep us alive in our hearts too. So they are both very purposeful. One is just more trained than the other. Still useful, nonetheless. In fact, maybe this is a hot take, but I'd reckon animals are more useful than humans. Why? Because even the ones just lounging around doing nothing bring us happiness. Not all humans can say they can do that. Sure, some, but not all. You're not in love with every human you see.
