Becoming a parent has been one of the most challenging transitions we've ever gone through in life. It's not just the lack of sleep. It's not just the extra expenses. It's the fear that you're constantly going to mess something up. There's no handbook on how to raise your children. It's a trial-and-error (mostly error) where you do the best you can and hope for the best. No one will thank you for all the diapers you changed, for all the laundry you did, and all the meals you prepared for them. But in return, you will get to watch your child grow up in front of your eyes, and that's one of the greatest gifts we can be given.

But just because it's a gift, doesn't mean it isn't hard. There will be arguments, tantrums, mistakes, and many instances where your patience will be pushed to its limit, and then some. On top of all of that, you're exhausted, and expected to still try and have some semblance of a life.

There is one silver lining, though. We're here to tell you that you're not alone - every parent goes through this and it's totally normal. Not just humans, either. We thought it might make you feel better knowing that it's not just you that's struggling, but also lionnesses, elephant parents, wolves, and bears who are having a ruff transition into pawrenthood. The good thing about baby animals is that they grow up quickly, so all those high-energy, immature phases pass by relatively quickly. The bad thing is that they also grow up quickly, so you only have a few months when they’re the most adorable they’ll ever be. Human babies need their parents to help them for much longer than animals, but at the very least, they’re pretty stinkin’ cute for that whole time.

We have many great memories with our kids, but still, our favorite time of the day is naptime. Not for the obvious reasons, but because we want to cuddle with them for as long as we can before they’re “too cool” for snuggles. We hope that day will never come.
