The Office Edition of CDS - Friday went from WFH support to office parking lot Catch the Kitten
I do IT Support and normally WFH Fridays. Last Friday, I got my very first work edition of Catch the Kitten, and we were successful. Once caught, she went from a scared runner to a purring puddle of love and tics, it took minutes if that. Unfortunately, I can't keep her, my partner has said NO.

My 6 cats are all waiting and watching the interloper in her isolation jail. Some of the cats look (and sound) like they want her gone, but I think a couple of them want me to let her be free-range so they can play (not happening, she is small, small). I get to soak in the kitten love for the week till she has her intake with my local rescue on Friday. In conclusion, meet Eleven (name TBD). She's the 11th cat to find us since we met.

She's precious. Boo on your partner lol.

Having six cats already definitely makes it understandable to pass on adopting another tiny little cutie. At a certain point the household probably starts feeling outnumbered. But rescuing her, getting her safe indoors, and helping her get to a rescue is still such a good thing to do. Tiny kittens like that really need somebody willing to step in for them. Even if Eleven is only there for a short time, she still gets a warm place to stay, food, safety, and lots of love before finding her forever home.

Those coffee beans. ☕️ 🫘🐾 🥰

Those little paws and toe beans are so adorable. Tiny kitten feet somehow always look way too small to be real. The little pink beans, the tiny claws, the awkward baby stretches, all of it is ridiculously cute. Kittens really do have a way of making people emotional over the smallest things. One look at those tiny paws and suddenly nothing else matters except protecting the tiny little fluffball attached to them.

The great thing about doing rescue and temporary fostering is that you can get frequent infusions of kitten.

By far the best reason to go into the office.

The possibility of getting to catch and cuddle a tiny kitten during the workday would convince a lot more people to come into the office willingly. Emails and meetings suddenly become a lot easier to tolerate when there is a tiny purring kitten involved somewhere in the building. Productivity might completely disappear for a few hours, but morale would probably reach an all-time high. It is hard to focus on IT support tickets when a tiny little rescue baby is sitting nearby looking adorable and winning everybody over one by one. Some workplaces offer free coffee, but surprise kitten distribution honestly sounds way more effective.
