Some companies have even been encouraging their workers to use as much AI as possible. They've gamified it, encouraging workers to get creative with the ways they use AI. It's been coined “tokenmaxxing": employers are pushing their workers to use these agents as much as possible. Presumably they didn't consider the cost of this before doing so? Because AI use isn't free. The tokens cost money, so wasting them on tasks like checking the weather or asking inane questions is just a silly usecase.
Now, there are cautionary tales like this one. It has the makings of a tall tale, but it's probably true, and it's probably not even the only case of this.

Even if the number itself is a bit of an overstatement, there are workplaces who are punishing any employees who don't use their agents enough. We'll absolutely see more workplaces fall victim to this before long.
