Isn't it always like that, the person who wants the cat the least ends up bonding with it the most?

It really is always like that. Take it from Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem where a void cat was wandering a neighborhood. A couple ends up adopting this void cat a week after their first encounter, despite the husband saying "no more cats." The Cat Distribution system said, "cute story." When the cat distribution system wants to give you a cat from the universe, there's little to nothing you can do about it, just like in this story. They tried and tried to catch this little void, but he just kept running away from them. Their neighbor ended up having better luck, but somehow this void still ended up with them. It was a shock for the wife when she thought her husband didn't want a cat, and then she walks into their home and sees him cuddling up with the little guy. His name is Onyx, and he's their new void kitten at 7 weeks old!

  • I used to have a void cat. Despite the fact that many people aren't keen on them, I loved my little void. His name was Spooky and he was so cute. People tend to not like void cats because they're hard to find, to see, and they're difficult to photograph. In a world were everything centers around aesthetics and posting on Instagram, it sort of makes sense that they're becoming less and less in fashion. Not only is the reason because of modern cultural aspects, but it's also because of archaic superstitions. It's hard to believe that in 2026, in the world of AI and smartphones that people are still using a myth from centuries ago to justify the shaming of a color of cat! But the collective is never very wise.

  • It's a tale as old as time that a guy doesn't want a cat initially and then suddenly discovers in himself that he really wants the cat. When you bond with a cat, there's nothing anyone can do. You have to succumb to the love and affection the cat offers, and just accept the new furball into your life.
