Kitten abandoned by cat mom found crying under shed saved by neighbor who rasied fur baby after shelters turned him away, cat dad says: ‘The goofiest kitten I've ever met and since he can walk well now, he's always right there like a tiny shadow.’

Kittens are found in all sorts of strange places, especially when their momma's are trying to hide them. But that does not always go to plan and sometimes these hiding spots become problematic.

Which is how our story from Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit begins. With a kitten screaming its head off while surrounded by its siblings who did not make it. It is not known what happened to momma either, but when this cat loving rescuer showed up, all he found was a lone kitten crying amongst his limp siblings.

Covered in fleas and muck, this tiny feline's rescuer got straight to work cleaning him up and getting rid of his infestation. A mountain of work in itself to tackle, only made worse when this pawrent tried to do right by this kitten and hand him over to a respectable organization who could appropriately help him and was rejected. The shelter system simply being too full to even consider taking on such a hefty responsibility. Leaving this cute kitten in the care of the kind cat man who found him.

  • Goodness this is such a sad situation. You might think that logically shelters and rescues will want to take in the sickest and most in need cats as a priority. But the reality is they need to be frugal with the limited resources they have. And taking on a kitten in such a state would entail round the clock care and medication. Something which our rescuer was thankfully able to offer, even if it stretched them thin to the point of tearing. They knew that the life they had in their hands was their responsibility and there was no way they were going to let anything happen to this tiny feline.

  • Well, this is truly heartwarming to hear. Those days in between must have been really tough. To not know whether your kitten is going to make it is a heartbreaking spot to be in. but to be on the other side of that madness is even better. Together this bonded pair have overcome the odds and created a connection between them that is simply unparalleled. Not to mention that the very four paws that are now following this hooman all over the house would not have existed had it not been for this hooman’s determination and dedication to cat kind.
