Perhaps it's the cuteness of their animal faces or the animal instincts that draw humans to the natural world, but animals have a way of speaking volumes to the human experience without ever saying a word out loud. Giraffes reach for the tender leaves up top, moles dig holes to hide from the sun, and penguins bring a cherished pebble to their partners as a way of sharing their love. Aren't all of those environmental wonders something that humans do?
Humanity can learn so much from the animal world, particularly in the department of kindness. Although, of course, there are predator/prey relationships in the wild, oftentimes, animals also have symbiotic relationships with other animals without realizing their native effects on each other. Birds pluck bugs off of the deer, mice sleep in the holes the woodpecker made, and dogs… well, dogs are everyone's bestie in the natural world, so they're like the extroverted socializer of the animal pyramid. Maybe if humans spent less time worrying about what other humans are up to, and thought more critically about how they could be more like the friendly dogs of this world, we might be in a better place.
But at the very least, for starters, we can share the friendliness and the kindness with our loved ones. Not with a wet snoot, a wagging tail, a flutter of wings, or the kiss of our whiskers, but with a collection of wholesome, adorable memes that trigger the cuteness receptors in our brains.
