Wedding or money arrangement? It seems as if there is no difference anymore.

Every time I read a Reddit story that involves a marriage, it seems as if they only fight about money. Every relationship's ultimate issue is money. Given the state of the world that we live in, this does not seem surprising, but it does show the lack of communication skills most of these couples have. I've been seeing a lot of partners lately, who, to avoid a separation or divorce, decide to instead of confronting the situation and working on a solution, to simply expose it on social media. Where has the talking part of a relationship gone?

I don't think that love is over and that everything is just a money arrangement that people settle on to avoid being alone forever, but… it does seem as if people are awful at talking. There should be discussions in relationships. It's a part of the game! You have to tell your partner when you find something annoying, or, as in the case of this story, unfair. Then, your partner has to express what THEY think about it and together try to find a middle ground where both of you can actually benefit from the situation. That is called compromise. And it's actually the only way to get through a relationship happily.

So maybe, after all, this discussion that the couple presented to us through social media isn't really about the money. Maybe the real reason for all their problems is not how much each makes or the prenup they signed. This is simply about not being able to confront your partner and explain that something doesn't seem fair. The main problem is not money, but the lack of talking. So maybe instead of receiving advice saying things such as "he is right" or "she is right," they should be told to just talk to each other so they can discuss what they both think about this matter. After all, this couple only involves two people, and they should be able to solve things just the two of them.
