Pregnant stray cat gets rescued just before giving birth, but instead of giving the kittens away, her hooman decides to keep the feline family together furrever

Cats don't have the same concept of a family unit like we do, but, we'd like to think that a mama cat would like to live alongside her kittens, even if they do engage in one-too-many shenanigans for her liking. Welcome to pawrenthood, Honey!

Felines can give birth up to 5x per year. We hope no cat has to give birth that many times, but because they can, cats and their kittens don't have the same relationship that we hoomans do with our children. It's very normal for mothers to be separated from their children, especially for adoption purposes. Everyone wants to adopt a kitten, but rarely do any want a mama cat and her kitten(s). Except for our compassionate, soft-hearted hooman from Reddit's r/cats subreddit who saved Honey's life.

Honey was a stray she had been feeding, and upon realizing she was pregnant, she took her in and made her comfortable before giving birth. Honey brought three beautiful baby kittens into the world, and after seeing their bond together, her hooman decided to keep all three kittens and Honey at home!

Not only is it impurrtant for her kittens to be around their mom during their critical period just after birth, but keeping them as a bonded unit is sure to produce three very socialized and well-mannered kittens. With the three of them together, they can entertain themselves while mom goes off and enjoys a bit of peace and quiet after nurturing and taking care of them for weeks, not to mention the whole time she was pregnant!

Now, the kittens are all grown up, and Honey is enjoying her retirement. Thanks to her mom, she's birthed her last litter, and can enjoy watching her kids grow up all from the comfort of her own cat bed. The kittens may still need a mother's paw every once in a while, and we're glad Honey will be there to take over when her hooman is away.

Being a stray cat is hard enough, but a pregnant stray? Furget about it. Your movements are slower, you're hungrier, and your body is using most of its energy to create new life. We can barely function when we have a bad headache, so imagine how tough it must be for cats like Honey!

Bonded cats are something else. They'll sleep face to face and create their own imaginary play worlds that only they understand. We hope these kitties know how lucky they are!
