Why does she have such a problem with wearing scrubs?

There are many benefits to wearing a uniform to work. You don't have to think about what you wear every day. You certainly don't have to think about whether you're wearing something that's sufficiently professional. You just put on the same outfit every day without thinking twice. Of course, not all uniforms are created equally. Some restaurants require waiters to wear the tackiest stuff for the sake of the brand, and it probably wouldn't be comfortable to work for a certain chain restaurant with an owl mascot that some dads love to take their sons to. At least if you're signing up for that job, you know what you're getting into.

If you become a nurse, you know that there's a 0% chance that you'll be able to wear your own clothes to work. You shouldn't get into nursing if the thought of wearing scrubs repulses you. There are other jobs you might not expect to wear scrubs, but you have to anyway because of the company's policy. If you work at a nail salon or a beauty parlor, scrubs might be a part of your uniform. The woman in this story works at a spa that requires her to wear scrubs, even when she's working at the front desk. She is extremely uncomfortable with this arrangement and told her superiors that she refuses to discuss the dress code further and that she will be wearing slacks and blouses to work, which is against company policy. Her behavior left the owner no choice but to fire her. I wonder if this situation has made her reflect on herself.
