Romance used to be a beautiful fairytale thing we saw on movies and TV. Romance meant there was always a chance of meeting the love of your life on the park. Your soulmate was just a ridiculously humiliating bump with a stranger on the street. Your things would end up all over the side of the street, and they would lock eyes with you while giving back your belongings. Maybe you would go watch your favorite indie band and the guitarist would ask for your number at the end of the show. The delusion was so high that even at some point, we all thought that Justin Bieber would most definitely fall in love with us if he saw how unbothered and not a fangirl at all, we were at his concert. Delusion means possibility and possibility means hope.

Somewhere along the way, delusion was lost, casual encounters with strangers became more rare, and dating apps became a thing. Now don't get me wrong, this is not a slamming party against dating apps. I think they can be so fun and, at times, successful! Hey, my aunt literally married the guy she meant on Bumble, they are happily married and have a kid now, so not all hope is lost. But the longing for a more ‘analogue’ way of meeting people is there. I personally, am a firm believer in chasing what you want. The market may be harsh but we are tougher so why don't we all practice a little of good use of our free-will and just ask for all the hotties number we see on the street. To my fellow introverts, if this is just an unthinkable option for you, you can always count on our dear dating apps to find your soulmate, or someone to spend some time with.

Dating apps are like playing Russian roulette. Without the un-aliving, of course. But in the sense that you truly never know what you'll get. The love of your life might be just one swipe away. Or maybe, the guy that has an awkward bio is funny and cute in real life. The thing is you'll have to say yes to a date to find out. Maybe that is our final lesson. More yes, less doubts. You are just one bad date away from finding your partner, maybe.
