Why should she have to give him the food that she was buying?

Do you remember when Black Friday was all about arriving at the store at 5 AM and fighting people for deals on a flat-screen TV? The days of doing anything and everything to get those Christmas deals in person are far behind us, but that doesn't mean the desire to argue with customers in public has completely evaporated. As long as human beings share space in grocery stores, restaurants, or movie theaters, we are going to find some opportunity to tussle with each other. 

You can start a public argument for any reason if you look hard enough. Some geriatrics fight young people at the movie theater not for talking or disrespecting the movie, but for chewing their popcorn too loudly. There is no shortage of conflicts in restaurants and other public spaces over whether a table is too loud. 

The woman in this story was miffed when a fellow grocery store customer came up to her and demanded that she give him the ground beef that she had picked up, because it was on sale, and he wanted some. While her husband said she should've given in to the demanding dude, the rest of the internet is much more conflicted on the matter.

  • IceSeeker This. I think they're just mad that they didn't get there on time so they lashed out when they saw you. Like you said if only they've asked nicely, you would have given them some. That's on them. Their bad temper got them no meat.

  • BrinyBrain Why would they be the a hole if they took all 8? Its a consumer market where if they want to pay for all 8 and all 8 are available they are perfectly allowed to. It isn't wasteful and its not like they're reselling.

  • ashgs872tbhjs -- Rudeness is not related to what's allowed you're always legally entitled to be rude, Imao (at least in the US). That said, it's definitely not rude. Bulk buying cheap items is great, and if you buy extra this time you'll either skip the next trip or buy less during it (etc.) so you're not having any net impact at all. Everyone already knows not to go to a sale late and expect to find it still in stock, and there's still a ton of other food in the store.

  • Routine-Nerve-9180 That sale might've been someone's only chance to eat beef that month. If you can afford 8 packages at once then you can afford to leave a few packages for others who may not be able to buy in bulk and who have to live off sales. It's common courtesy. Now obviously no one should be r de about it but if he took all 8 (which he didn't) he would've most definitely been a bit of an a le

  • Do you think this customer went up to an employee first to ask if there were any extra packets of beef in the back, or that he just went up to the woman with the beef and confronted her before he could figure out another way to get what he wanted? I guess we'll never know.
