Last night I was getting ready for bed as usual around 3 am (mortuary worker) when my sweet

sweet baby, Molly, appeared at my window begging to be let in. Now for context this cat very

rarely ever wants to come inside when its raining, she likes to sit on the porch and watch the rain

droplets but last night was a very very fortunate exception. I let her inside through the laundry room

and noticed a weird stench I must've missed earlier (rarely go in that room).

It was a heavy gas leak, which the firefighters (came for something unrelated) said honestly would've

Soft-Percentage8888 One of my cats alerted us to a fire that started on the

side of the house where we don't have windows or cameras. No clue how he knew it was happening but

he was acting erratic in a place he usually doesn't go to. We managed to go out and put it out before any damage was done.

Fluffy-Cat-103 Wonderful story. Similar to my own. This cat that
via u/Fluffy-Cat-103
nobody wanted followed me home one night. After knocking at many doors and
via u/Fluffy-Cat-103
checking that he belonged to nobody I decided to keep him. Anyway a week or so
via u/Fluffy-Cat-103
later I got home from work about 1am and fell asleep on the sofa which I never
via u/Fluffy-Cat-103
usually do. About 30 mins later I was woken up by him jumping wildly all over my
via u/Fluffy-Cat-103
body and violently nudging my face with his head. I woke up suddenly in shock
via u/Fluffy-Cat-103
and started coughing. The entire room and rest of the flat was thick with heavy
via u/Fluffy-Cat-103
smoke that hadn't quite reached the floor yet. There was an electrical fire coming
via u/Fluffy-Cat-103
from under my aquarium that was burning into the carpet. Anyhow we rushed outside onto the landing
via u/Fluffy-Cat-103
and I pulled the plugs out and opened every window wide. An hour later it was ok and back to normal. I
via u/Fluffy-Cat-103
hadn't named the cat yet and this woman from another flat who heard all the commotion and had
via u/Fluffy-Cat-103
came out to see if I was alright said: Why don't you name him Smokey? He saved your life. So that's his
via u/Fluffy-Cat-103
name now and 4 years later we are still together. He has extreme behavioural problems at times and
via u/Fluffy-Cat-103
friends say to me, Why don't you get rid of him? But I never will of course. I love him so much. There is a
via u/Fluffy-Cat-103
bond between us that will never be broken. He is peacefully sleeping by my side at this minute. Bless him.
