29 Old School Animal Memes Full of 90s Nostalgia and Silliness

The 90s captured a specific kind of dark, sarcastic humor that has since not been seen in this world. It was a devil may care kind of attitude and it shone best amongst the many animal memes we shared on MySpace. And today we have a bundle of animal memes with just that nostalgic 90s sensation.

For those of you who remember what it was like to click on your friend's profile and have their profile song blast you at full volume before the page had even loaded, you will know the kind of aesthetic we are talking about. It was punk rock, it was emo, it was rap, it was hip hop. In the 90s everything was counterculture. And in a funny way animals and their memes got wrapped up in that life quite a lot. Perhaps because animals do not belong to any kind of hooman culture they fit into the counter culture movement. Nonetheless they are ingrained in our memories from cute kittens saying inappropriate things to pandas falling over.

So we invite you 30 something year olds to join us on a nostalgic trip back to a time when things were simpler. The internet worked so slowly you could leave things to load for days, you could not have a phone call while someone was 'surfing the web' and if you wanted to jump on a Zoom it meant something totally different. And with that we leave you to dive in a remind yourself of the glory of the good old days.

While all of these memes thus far have been full of that 90s nostalgia this one really hits home as it just feels like that classic moment of you having your friends over and your parent pop[ing their head in to see if you need anything. It is a mix of awkwardness, encroachment on your flowing and intensely personal conversations, and worst of all the epic uncoolness of a parent getting involved in a social situation with their kids and their friends. It has everything that every kids comedy movie had back in the good old 90s.

Yeah this would have been so many of us back in the days of MySpace. In fact, in a weird roundabout way, this would have been the only way to get us as emo teenagers to go to a sunny place like the beach. It would not be the sparkling sun, the golden sand or the warm inviting water that would get us there .it would be the hermit crab who has decided to use a human skull as a shell. Totally b****s and something that we would 100% have done as well or worn on a tshirt if it were possible back then.
