Brave dog saves pregnant pawrent and unborn baby’s life when out of control hooman tried to attack them, police and animal control praise the pup for her heroism: ‘They gave her treats, they said that she was only protecting her owner’

Stories of doggos saving hoomans are not uncommon, but they still serve to surprise and delight us dog lovers as we get to see the tables turned for once and how a darling doggo can step up and save their pawrent in the way their pawrent had saved them.

Reddit's r/DOG subreddit is full of canine related curiosities but this one story stood out amongst the rest as it truly showed off a canine's capacity for love, understanding and social cues. The situation our story is set in is an unstable and chaotic one, with a deranged hooman causing trouble for our pawrent protagonist. Damaging her belongings and losing her mind. And while this was not ok, the pupper did not flinch, she sat stoic and waited until the pawfect moment to step into the situation.

Too early and this doggo would have caused more stress and panic than needed, too late and her mother would have incurred physical harm. But this clever canine with her sharp understanding of social situations saw the exact moment when things were about to turn truly sour and stepped in to stop the madness. This is a truly special occurrence, one that was recognised by emergency services when they wheeled away the aggressor to hospital and one that this pawrent and her pup will cherish and value for the rest of their love filled lives together.

Holy heeby jeebies. What in the Jerry Springer just happened here? How did such a situation escalate so far out of control that a darling doggo had to step in to settle the score? Now, of course the aggressor here must have been going through something incredibly difficult to end up behaving in such an uncouth way, not that anything can excuse attacking a pregnant woman. But you can imagine that this was a truly tough day for all involved. Thank goodness this brave pupper was there to stop things from getting anymore out of hand than they had already gotten.

Yeah, we can totally understand the need to brag about such a brave doggo. Most of us will thankfully never be put in such a situation where our puppers have to step up and stand up for us. But it is something that all us pawrents wonder about from time to time. So it is nice to know that even a dog child who was not trained to pawtect her hooman could still get involved at just the right moment. And more than that stay relatively calm and listen to her mother. It’s one of those situations who hope will never happen, but if they must then at least they should happen like this.
