This is a very fair point. After all, not all of us are meant for the world of work that we are surrounded by. Some of us are just tiny little kittens who have nothing to do with the worries and woes of the working week. So why would it be that we are meant to be employed? So in the end it only makes sense that we would let fate decide our own fate and whether we are destined to actually work. Ah, aren’t the things we tell ourselves in the first few days of unemployment just wildly wonderful?

Not one of us can deny that we have had this thought when replying to an email about something we really did not want to do. Leading to at least a week of dilly dallying and dodging reminder emails until the other person takes the hint and lets it go. If only we could actually just say no, to simply respond to requests to come to weekly performance reviews with the simple answer of no. That is not interesting to us and we will not be choosing to attend.
