Why is it that siblings text you like you were an ex situationship begging for attention? There is a universal language regarding siblings: roasting. Roasting has become the ultimate form of love demonstration, to the point where receiving affection from them will have you responding, ‘Who is this and what have you done with my sister?’ You could be having a mental breakdown and asking for help, and they will say, ‘I thought therapy was working, guess not’. The worst part is that it works; I don't know the psychological answer to that, but I can guarantee that type of message will feel more comforting than them saying ‘it’s okay, I love you'. It feels good to know that no matter what, you will always have your siblings to give you a reality check, like, okay, maybe my life isn't that bad and I'm just hungry.

The beautiful thing about having that kind of relationship with them is knowing how unconditional they actually are, and that no type of roast message will destroy that. Sure, I will threaten to end your life if you don't convince Mom to give me 20 bucks, but if you need a kidney, I'll be there.
And if you were to pull out my messages with my siblings, you would probably think we absolutely despise each other. And probably half of the messages only make sense to us, but that is the beauty in having siblings, right? One minute you are threatening each other for wearing your top without asking, and the other dissecting why Dad is in such a bad mood. It's how it's supposed to be; siblings can move past silly arguments without apologizing or having a deep conversation about it. You fight, you have breakfast together, you move on.
