Sweet stray cat who walked into a hooman’s home, climbed into their bed and won over his pawrents to be with cuddles and biscuits, tries to bring home friend: ‘Bugs is still too shy to come in so I’ve just been leaving out food and water for him.’

It is not often that we get to fully celebrate a cat resuce story but this one we have lined up for you today is more moving, heartwarming and purrfect than any other that we have ever had the pleasure of reading. There were no late and long nights. No arguments or shelter holds. Simply a cat lover, some stray cats and an impending weather system that you inevitably bring them together once and for all.

Cat rescue stories are usually full of frustration. After all, to catch a cat who is stressed takes a whole heap of patience, and seeing as cats are often found in compromising positions such as being such on roofs and the like, their rescue can take an extraordinary amount of time. And even after the initial rescue the stray holds, vet visits and potential past owners coming forward to claim the cat do not allow for the cool and calming waters needed for a purrefect rescue story to take place.

But this story takes place on a lake where the wind is low and the waves non-existent and when this pair of stray cattos met the hooman whom they would come to call mom soon enough the conditions were purrfect. They took their time, getting to know each other from a distance at first, slowly warming up as is acceptable in feline social society. But when a scary storm stood to harm the helpless cattos their rescuer decided it was time to make the first move as it were and opened the door to her home. Beginning a new and loving chapter in their pawrent-cat child relationship and one they will remember furever.

  • Well, it turns out this lake effect snow is no joking business at all. Weather systems that bring with them snow tend to draw the warmer water of the lake up into them and subsequently spew out massive downpours in the neighboring regions. Which is most definitely not something that cats are equipped for. Most felines would be out of their depth in more than a couple of inches of snow, while we are talking a couple of feet. Thank goodness someone was looking out for these sweethearts. It is painful to think how things could have ended up if this daring cat lover had not stepped up to the plate.

  • Oh goodness, literally on the floor crying right now! This is what true cat love looks like, and there is no boyfriend who can stop such a thing. Even if he were to come back home and find the two of them in bed he would not be able to lose his cool and give them a talking to. He would have to accept the love for what it is and welcome the four pawed addition to his home. There are some truly special relationships between hoomans and cats in this world, and we would not hesitate to say that this is one of those.
