Found this tiny guy in the bottom of a trash can behind an elderly neighbor's house under a propane tank and 10 gal jug of gasoline. He's tiny, and was limp when I pulled him out. He perked

up once we got him cooled off (it was 100°f today!) His tail is half necrotic and not sure how we're going to afford an amputation, but we'll figure it out

He was limp when I pulled him out, and I was concerned he wasn't going to make it. (It was a scorching 100°f, or 37.7°C!) His tail is also necrotic at the tip, and we thought it may be further up.

Once we got him inside, he started perking up immediately. We ran to the only open store 30 minutes away to get milk replacement for him, and set up an appointment for yesterday with our vet to get his tail looked at.

We got him to the vet, and found out while yes, he will most likely lose the tip of his tail as it will fall off; BUT the other part we thought may be necrotic was actually just covered by a massive infected scab.

Our vet pulled the scab off, gave him a shot of antibiotics, and taught us how to keep it clean. So, he gets to keep most of his tail! He's eating great, and already getting so much more confident in walking. He's about

we already have two and our house is super tiny, BUT we've already found him a home with my partner's brother who is already head over heals in love with him. He will be moved into his new home once he is healed, weaned, and strong enough. ♥

mama was trying to move him and was unable to retrieve him. There was a full can of gas stacked on top of the propane tank so there was no room for an adult cat to squeeze in.

There is female cats in the area with teets, but not big enough to be actively feeding. This trash can is used by our neighbors to hide his feul cans to avoid theft, and not for actual trash. That is of course what we HOPED happened.
