Restaurant server maliciously complies with disrespectful people’s crazy demands, gives them exactly what they ask for, and they still complain: ‘She never gets in trouble’

I work with a server (we'll call her GiGi) who uses malicious compliance to get back at customers who are inconsiderate and even when they complain she does not receive consequences. I'm not posting this in a "i'm a snitch" or in a bothered way. I just never thought of this as a method at all. This is my first time working restaurant.
I work at a big chain restaurant and I've been working there since May. I became really cool with Gigi, who has been around since that location opened in our area. Gigi started off as to-go, then server assistant, then she became a server. Gigi is a great server, people come in

and ask for her. I am a server as well (obviously), and I never noticed until recently what Gigi does when a customer is demanding and r de. People have spoken about it, but I never seen it firsthand. Typically I work sunday mornings, I never work nights so this was my
first time seeing her do it in full form. Someone came in 10 minutes before closing, Gigi was ped, as was BOH. To top it off the customer was demanding, ride, and a chronic complainer. The customer arrived with her husband and her daughter and son-in-law. At
first the host tried not to sit her but the lady said she wanted her food and told the host (sixteen years old by the way) to just "do your job and sit me". So Gigi told the host to sit them at a specific booth (they threw a tantrum for a booth in a closed section), the booth was
still really wet from someone bussing it. The lady noticed it was wet and briefly mentioned it but couldn't say much because that's what she asked for. Then Gigi went to the kitchen and saw there was no bread so she purposefully stalled for three extra minutes
before putting the bread in the machine. Then the bread took a couple more minute and Gigi moved at snail speed. By the time she got to them it was 8:59 (one minute before we closed). Gigi sent the order in at 9:05 but the kitchen refused to make it until the manager
explained to them that because the customer and her family were sat before 9 pm, even if the food was sent in after the kitchen still has to make it. Then when Gigi went back out there, the old lady yelled at Gigi for not bringing extra bread. So Gigi proceeded to put
the breads into the machine very calmly, wait for them to heat. Took the breads out and stacked multiple breads on three plates and filled that ladies table with plates full of bread. When the husband complained about drinks
not being refilled, she refilled their drinks every five seconds and their table was filled with cups. She didn't pre-bus since they weren't finished with any of the drinks on the table.
When their food came out, the lady complained about not having enough ranch for her salad. So gigi took handle full of to-go soup bowls of ranch dressing and put it on the table. That was the ladies last straw. She complained to our manager, as I was leaving. I
went into to work yesterday, Gigi was there. One of the line cooks told me Gigi didn't get in trouble since technically all she was doing was her job and what the lady asked. What makes it funnier is Gigi wasn't aggressive or angry, she was extremely calm. So it didn't seem like

retaliation. The cherry on top is that she never outright says what she's doing, but we all kind of know. Especially since, when customers typically ask for extra bread or more dressing in a kinder way then she doesn't over do it. Even when she was to-go, if customers called
less than 20 minutes before closing, she would stall on the phone. The cameras in the to-go room are angled to where you can't see the screen, so she'd pretend the screen was frozen and restart, cough, sneeze, pretend she can't hear them on the other side of the phone, ask
them to repeat their order. Until it reaches to the time we officially closed. So now she "wouldn't be able to send jt in. If someone came in, she'd move extremely slow and they'd both be there late. Many people stopped coming in 15-20 minutes before closing. I was
told that if someone waited until the last minute people ask for extra dressing or a drink when she was at to-go, she'd fill their bag to brim with a bunch of ranches, or she'd fill their drink to the point where they drop it and spill it. As a server if they want extra butter she'll fill
their table with butter until it becomes an inconvenience. You want extra fries? she will ask the cooks to give her two plates of fries and over fill the plate with fries until whatever meat or other side they have is covered with fries.
Every single time they complain, she never gets in trouble because she's still doing her job, their orders aren't ever messed up or tampered with. The location has been open for
almost three years and she's never been reprimanded. She hasn't even been written up. It's funny to watch but Ik some people think it's lowkey problematic It makes me wonder if other servers do this, I haven't.
