Every pet I have ever adopted has stayed with me until the very end. The decision to adopt a pet is a serious one, so you have to make sure you are fully committed to whatever may come your way when you invite a fluffy friend into your home. You can face an extremely energetic pet and be forced to find ways to get that energy out without destroying your house, or realize your new friend isn't a fan of another member of the family, so you'll have to figure out if you can get them to get along.
Sometimes the only solution is to find a different family to take the pet in, which is not ideal, but it happens. Life is unpredictable, and as long as you make sure they get to a better home that can deal with whatever it was that you couldn't, there is no reason to hold that against you.
However, if you do decide that rehoming a pet is the only solution, you have to make peace with that decision. You can't do what this family below did, who gave their one-year-old puppy up for adoption because he couldn't get along with their other dog, and then two weeks later had a change of heart and demanded the puppy back.
The puppy was welcomed to a new family, who made many adjustments to take him in and ensure he lives the best, most pawdorable life possible. Two weeks is more than enough to get attached, on both sides, and I can't think of a single reason why the new family should give him up just because the old one decided they want to try again.
For all intents and purposes, the dog now belongs to the new family. But should they give in to the old one's demands?
