Kitten discovered alone and lethargic by cat momma’s dog while on walkies given furever home with 3 cat children and a canine sibling who loves him: ‘He's currently curled up with my son sleeping.’

It is not often that the initial rescuer, the first snout on the scene if you will as a dog and not a hooman. But that is very much the case in this story where a very large dog has the golden opportunity to show just how loving he is by saving the life of a seriously smol kitten.

If we had not seen this story for ourselves we would not have believed it to be true, it is just that much like a movie. It has all the twists and turns that a dramatic box office hit requires while also being a coming of age story where opposites attract and come together to make something beautiful and ultimately save a life. And the fact that none of this would have happened if it weren't for the Big Friendly Doggo (BFD) if you will, that sniffed out the smol kitten in the first place, is simply sublime.

Much like in the Roald Dahl classic the Big Friendly Giant, our canine colossus takes pity upon the poor innocent kitten he had stumbled upon while out for walkies one day. After sniffing out the sweet creature it dutifully alerted it's mom who quickly scooped up the kitten and rushed it to the vet. Suspecting the kitten might be fading she took no chances, but the vet assured her that while the kitten was weak it was in fact fine and would make a full recovery with some food and water. Once home, the true love story begins between Duke and Chopper.

  • Well, that sure does sound like quite the stroke of luck on so many different planes. First for the kitten to even be found when it was found. Any longer being left alone to battle the elements and it sounds as though this feline would have met a fate much worse than being sniffed at by a dog. Which brings us to the second point, not all puppers would be so polite around a vulnerable kitten, that was a stroke of luck in itself. But it seems that this is a family that has been blessed with fur and perhaps it was the same powers that blessed this family that brought them to this kitten in need.

    Update #2: Hes eating. He tried to chew the tip off the bottle so that wasn't necessary. He eats really well, even eating dry food. Im mixing it with cat milk, but he has no patience.

  • Aww, goodness it hardly gets any more adorable than that does it? It must be quite the special moment for an especially big dog to come into contact with something so epicly small in comparison. Something so small that he can barely even conceive of handling it and yet it is in the exact same realm as the giant doggo. We are sure that these two’s love story is one that will go on to blossom through their time together. After all, how can you not love the dog that saved you from that sorry alley.
