Parents like that always seem to think rules are for the rest of humanity. The kid is kicking seats, screaming, and launching toys into the void, and the adult response is basically a sleepy little shrug dressed up as guidance. That's not parenting; that's just being a human cushion with a wallet.

  • The funniest part is how these people always reach for fake authority instead of actual authority. “The pilot will be mad.” “The flight attendant will take it away.” “Someone will get angry.” Sure. And maybe a raccoon in first class will issue a warning next. Kids are not stupid. They know the difference between a real boundary and a theatrical threat that evaporates the second it gets inconvenient.

    Then, when a stranger finally says the obvious thing, the whole spell breaks. One calm person does what the parent refused to do for hours, and suddenly the child can stop. Imagine that. A miracle powered by basic manners. The crowd hears it. The parent hears it. The ego gets bruised.

    And that’s when the performance starts. More noise, more swearing, more self-righteous nonsense, like making a scene somehow proves a point. It never does. It just turns the plane into a floating reminder that some adults are basically toddlers with better credit scores.
