Dumped puppy found by garbage with food bag saved by repeat pupper rescuer who simply couldn’t let him go, giving him a furever home and family: ‘He’s so cute. I can’t wait to spend time with him after I get back from work.’

There is always an incredible amount of luck when it comes to finding dumped puppies before they get themselves into trouble. But this puppy rescue story is one that stands out amongst the rest as it took not only luck on the side of the puppy but of the rescuer as well.

We begin this story with a bit of a peculiarity, the fact that our rescuer is not at all foreign to the notion of rescuing puppies and is actually quite the dab hand at doing so. There is a specific road that he rides down every day on the way to work and for some reason it is a puppy playground. On several occasions before this one he has had to stop, pick up a puppy and return it to their mother a few hundred feet down the road. But this time was different.

Unlike the strays he is used to seeing, this dog was left with a bag of food by his side. An indication that this is no puppy that has strayed too far from mom. This is an abandoned puppy who has no one coming back for him. A definitive demonstration that this pawson has washed their hands of this sweet soul. Heartbroken at the notion that someone could have done this to such a young and innocent doggo, our rescuer immediately knew that this was the one doggo out of the dozens he had saved that he was destined to keep. And so this pup got the furever home it deserved.

Oh goodness that is just a whole load of heartache right there. How in the heck is this a true lived experience? Where it is common to find wayward puppies straying towards a busy road and have to pick them up so often that it comes across casual when you talk about it. But then to come across one puppy who unlike the others was left with food, as though to say, yes this is a dumped dog and here is his starter pack. Well, that has to tear a hole in the heart of even a man who has picked up dozens of puppies in his day.

Oh gosh, the poor puppy must have been so scared. It is one thing for these stray pups living their lives outdoors under the careful guidance of mom. They are used to the hustle and bustle of the hooman world. But for a tiny little being like that to find itself in such a dangerous and scary spot it must have been utterly harrowing. We are not even a little surprised that at the first offer of help he leapt at the hooman who offered it and didn’t look back. Thank goodness his awful owners decided to drop him off at that specific spot.
