Man walks into cat shelter to donate and comes out with a one-eyed kitten who he instantly fell for, but its adoption would end up being far more meaningful than either of them could imagine: ‘I was in love but I wasn't ready.’

All sorts of people from all walks of life find themselves at one point or another walking into a cat shelter. The one thing that unites all of them is that they will all likely be leaving that shelter with a cat in hand, even if they were not meaning to. That is very much the concept of this story we have lined up today.

People who truly love cats are a special kind of hooman. They are kind to stick by their feline through fights and warm feelings, through treats and dry food they'll never eat. It takes the kind of resilience that is commonly found in our armed services and lo and behold the hooman in this story is a military man himself. But also a man who diligently loved his cat child for 20 years, who gave it a loving life and extended family. But when both of those unfortunately passed on this deeply dedicated and loving man was left hollow.

But the Cat Distribution System was not about to let one of the best cat caring hoomans simply go to waste. And before you could say discount kitty, this hooman found himself with a new cat companion in his arms. One that literally yelled at him the moment he tried to set it down. An instant bond for a hooman who is so incredibly deserving of the love of a cat. May we all learn from the example his man has set, and live up to the standards of cat care he has set.

Wow, it is so heartwarming to hear the stories of such dedicated pawrents. Pawrents who afforded their cat children such deeply emotionally rich lives. We cannot imagine what it must feel like to lose all of that but to have been through all that and still have enough to give off yourself that you would go down to a shelter to donate is simply unreal. This is a person who loves cats with more passion than we have ever seen. But you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men, they always get trapped by a cat.

Now that is the kind of pawrenting we like to see. What a magical moment for both of these sweet souls. It is not often at all that a cat will bond so deeply and quickly with someone. Moreover, that a hooman would have such compassion for a kitten who has obviously seen better days. But this pawrent is more than justified in yelling at the worker. Nobody calls someone’s fur baby a discount kitty. Nobody puts discount kitty in the corner.
