'His days of suffering and neglect are over': For years, this 13-year-old cat who had been hit by a car was ignored by everyone, until finally, despite the harassment of passersby, someone takes him home

Surviving as a stray cat for 13 years is already an achievement, but to do it after being hit by a car… this cat deserves to be retired in a warm home.

Whenever we cover cat rescue stories, we always insist on thanking the person doing the rescuing. Because it's not obvious. It's not something to take for granted. People see cats in need of help every single day and simply… look away. And we get it. We do. Rescuing a cat is hard work. It takes time, it takes effort, cats, more often than not, are not easily trusting and won't simply walk into a carrier if you place one in front of them. But that doesn't mean that it's not worth it.

With all that said, it's still hard for us to imagine an entire community that knows about a cat who was hit by a car getting ignored for years on end. The sweetest cat, one who is beyond ready for retirement in a forever home, and not only was he ignored by the community for years, but when someone finally decided to give him a chance and rescue him, that person faced complaints and harassment from said community. But you know what? These people didn't deserve him anyway.

Now, finally, after years of being alone and in pain, this kitty is getting the help that he needs. And although his test results are not too promising, and it seems that he is sicker than he looks, whether he has a year left or ten, he is finally, finally going to be happy and loved.
