Wildlife and animal surprising facts so you can be the friend that always knows all the weird data
Nature is tricky, but these fun facts make it easier!
It's interesting how little we actually know about the world that surrounds us. We don't know much about the ocean, as we have only explored a minimal part of it. We don't fully understand animal behavior, and we definitely don't know everything about it. We know so little, especially when you are a common person without a biology degree or something like that, like me, that every little new fact we learn is actually a big deal for us. We know nothing, but we are always willing to learn. Well, if you are like me, you will actually like to know some of these things.
We all have that one friend who always knows all the weird and interesting data about nature and wild animals and is the one spilling out facts everywhere they go. I love that kind of friend, and I'm like that in some matters, but definitely not when it comes to wildlife. I'm actually pretty bad at all of these, which doesn't mean that I don't care. It just shows how uneducated I'm on the matter. But I want to change that, and the way to do it is with some baby steps. So for today, I learned some weird facts that at least will be interesting enough for my friends.
Today I learned a few things that I want to share, so here are 5 facts that may have not know before. Firstly, butterflies can taste with their feet. That's why they select which leaf to lay their eggs on with their feet. Isn't that amazing? Secondly, one that I actually knew before going into this but it's pretty cool anyway: octopuses have three hearts, and each of them has a different function. Third, reindeer's eyes change colors with temperature change, like in winter, so their sight works better with the lower light levels. Fourth, sea lions can follow a beat. That's actually insanely cool. And last but not least important, honeybees can move their wings 200 times a second. I bet they do a lot of cardio! And that was just a few of what I learned today.
