'Bought a farm, inherited a surprise cat': Old farmhouse comes with unexpected note and a 10-year-old outdoor "hunter" cat

An old farm could come with unexpected lore, but a cat? It's the best day of their lives. 

The farm life is a dream for some, and a nightmare for others. It's natural, rural, and peaceful. It's hard work, but it's honest work. For some people, they dream of retiring or moving to somewhere in the middle of nowhere, where they can see the stars at night, where they can wake up to the sound of birds chirping instead of car horns or honks. For others, they dread the barren lifestyle a farm provides. Whether you're a country person or a city person, there's one thing for sure, and that's that cats and farm life go hand in hand. 

Take it from the story here. A family buys a farm house. Little did they know, the home came with some history they weren't expecting. They receive a note explaining that there's a farm cat the family prior to them has been feeding for years. The cat is 10 years old, he never goes inside, but they still pet him, love him, and feed him. They even wanted to take him with them, but they felt he was too attached to the home itself, and would go looking for a way to get back if they took him. So the family that moved in has a new cat as their pet! He's a hunter, and has survival skills. An adorable way to begin a life on the farm.

  • This is honestly such a cute story. I've known a few farm cats myself, and they tend to be so sweet, gentle, and good natured. They usually have such a soft soul, they're not hissing or scratching or timid. A farm cat is sturdy, he knows himself and he's not afraid to ask for what he wants. He's used to having the best of both worlds: people around him to love him, and predators and unexpected visitors that keep him on his toes. There's something so wholesome and natural about a farm cat, that it's too good to pass up. If you moved into a farm and it came with a cat, would you take it in?
