‘He put the dog leash in his lap and walked away.’: Dog casually abandoned by pawrent in cafe lucks out with loving foster pawrents and a potential furever home as the search for his negligent pawrent continues

There are a lot of strange ways to dump a dog. Some choose to do it on a lonely rural road, while others will choose a chaotic highway. Some will opt for a garbage bin, while others will choose a bag in said bin. But our dumper today is guilty of walking up to a complete stranger and leaving his dog with them furever more.

They say Seattle is a strange place but it is hard to think that it could be any stranger than the story we have lined up for you today. This is is a tale of a dog who was dumped in a most unusual way. A way that left not only the dog wondering what the heck happened but also the dog's rescuer. In fact rescuer is a bit of a misnomer in this case since the dog was never in peril and so not in need of rescue.

Nonetheless, after having the dog dumped in their lap, literally, they got straight to work trying to track down the pawrents of this pupper in the hopes that he had been stolen rather than plainly abandoned. Giving the dumped doggo a safe and stable place to call home until either his pawrents are found or a suitable furever home presents itself. Leaving a story that started so strangely with a sweet ending in which a dog who was dumped managed to avoid ever feeling alone. Even if his dumper didn't want him, there were more than enough people present who did.

  • So, erm what in the heck? Who does something like this? We can kind of understand where the act of dumping a dog or abandoning them somewhere quiet, out of the way and certainly without people about. But to just walk up to someone, confuse them and leave your dog with them, that is about as twisted as it can get. Though in a certain sense at least this pupper did not spend one second of being dumped on his own. He was always with someone who did their best to offer love and support, which is most certainly something to be thankful for.

  • Goodness, this pupper literally could not have gotten any luckier than this. To land in the lap of luxury as it were with not only one set of people who want to care for it, but two. And as the poster mentions, this kind of bigger, older doggo is incredibly hard to adopt out in the shelter system. At least this way he has some stable ground to recover from the heartbreak of being dumped. It cannot be easy to get your head around being left behind like a worthless piece of trash.
